The first few beats came on, I turned to my sisters and without a word we were up dancing the macereana, when the song plays, you dance. We were at a concert in a stadium full of thousands of people and in that moment everyone stood up and danced. Full on hip shaking and in the groove dancing. When the song ended and we were all smiling and laughing I thought, this is awesome.

One of my guiding words for 2016 is dance. It’s not a word I would have typically picked but it seemed to pick me. It just kept coming to me and seemed fitting. The definition of dance is: dɑːns/verb: dance; 1.move rhythmically to music, typically following a set sequence of steps. To me dance can also be a way of going about your day to day life.

To me dance is all about dancing with the rhythm of life.

Dancing to the beat of your own drum (doing what lights you up and being authentic).

Going with the flow of life, dancing with the moment.

Dancing with your desires.

Feeling joyful, playful, womanly and happy.

Less resistance more flow.

Owing your body and moves.

Putting aside self doubt and dancing like no ones watching.

Sometimes you lead, sometimes you follow.

Practice, dedication and hard work.

Learning as you go.

Living a life that causes your soul to dance inside your body.

Embracing the moment (if the music good you dance).

‘Opportunity dances with those already on the dance floor.’ ~H. Jackson Brown

Dancing to feel alive and vibrant.

Dancing as a way to lovingly move your body and lift you spirits

Dance to me is such a beautiful word to describe a way of life.

I am by no means a professional dancer or ever plan on being one, but there’s just something about the act and idea of dancing that I love. There have been times when I have participated in dancing. For eight years I did highland dancing which I was never that amazing at but I loved the dedication to it, the practice, feeling the beat of the music. I also did line dancing for two years with a couple of school friends and a group of ladies twice our ages. We did it for the friendship, the laughs and again loosing ourselves in the rhythm of the dance. I will never pass on a chance to dance with my two beautiful sisters, when the music plays we dance and we will dance til we are glowing and laughing. We’ve danced together in a park where the music was playing just loud enough for us to hear and people were walking past. There have been countless dance parties in our lounge room and we can dance for hours with wii dance. I won’t lie I also dance around my bedroom from time to time and was more than a little hooked on the 2015 season of American Dancing with The Stars with Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough, I’ve even read Derek Hough’s book Taking the Lead, even if you aren’t a dancer it is an amazing book.

To really live out my word of 2016 I’ve started something I was a bit hesitant about, I’ve started going to Zumba classes. The entire first class I felt so uncoordinated and pretty out of my comfort zone but I smiled the whole time. I’ve been to three classes so far and I’m feeling more in rythym each time. There was the whole ‘I don’t want anyone to watch me dance’ thoughts that first lesson but quickly realised no body really cares, they are all to busy watching the instructor and there’s no mistakes just accidental solos.

So for me in 2016 I’m going to go about my days as if each day was a dance, embrace it fully, be in the moment, and feel the joy. I’m going to remind myself that things take practice and time. The sometimes I lead and sometimes I follow. And of course I will dance, show up to Zumba to lovingly move my body and throw dance parties in my lounge room. Because…

“Life is a dance, but it’s much more than mastering the steps. It’s pushing your boundaries, shattering your limits, and exploding in a breathtaking burst of life” – Derek Hough

So how are you going to dance today?

I’m a big believer in finding the simple joys in life, making time for the little things, it’s something I believe in and thought I was doing pretty well at. The other day I visited my chiropractor, he was going through the general adjustments and testing when he picked up that I’d been stressing, I couldn’t deny that one, it had been a busy week for me at work with lots of learning curves hence I was also feeling rundown. The next thing he bought up I wasn’t expecting. He asked me how much rest do I get. My reply was probably not enough, I work 40hours a week in hospitatlity so my roster is all over the place and days off are rarely on weekends.

He then asked what do I do for pleasure? This one had me stumped. On my days off I usually am doing something I enjoy, or more so I’m not working so isn’t that enough? He  went onto explain that I need to make sure I’m doing things that I actually find pleasure in, things for me that will fill up my cup and keep me going until the next days off where I can recharge again. He also said I need to plan these things so that I’m looking forward to them during my work week. This threw me a little, I don’t like the idea of wishing away the days until something better comes along but then I looked at it in a different light. I wouldn’t really be wishing away the days, every day I could still practice being in the moment and flow of life BUT I could do with more things that I reserve just for my days off, activities and projects that will fill me up with joy and keep me riding on those good vibes when things get a little challenging at work.

That night I was scrolling through Instagram and saw this beautiful quote.

cheap clomid tablets

How true and beautiful, sometimes when things get a little sucky all it takes is a thought like ‘hey I’m having chocolate cake for dessert tonight’ and it can pull you right back to being ok with whatever is going on. On another level we need those bigger things to look forward to that fill us up, the things we find pleasure and passion in and time flies by while we loose ourselves in it.(I’ll write another post on that) It’s these things that in a funny way help us rest and recharge (not the actual doing nothing) so we are feeling more balanced and ready for whatever the week ahead may bring.

So it’s been a week since my session with my Chiro and as he suggested after my last days off I came home and planned out some things for my days off, getting creative, baking and social catch ups. I’ve been finding ways to get creative and baked a cake and you know what I think it’s going to work. For me simply getting in touch with my creative side, which I find great pleasure in, has been beautiful and bought me joy in an area I had let slide. Tonight as I go to bed after my days off I’m going to plan again.

So lovely let me ask you. Are you getting enough rest? What do you do for pleasure? What can you plan to look forward to so that you can fill up your cup and keep you going? Are you doing nothing and thinking it’s rest but feeling more rundown?

Get planning lovely and find one little or big thing to look forward.
Here’s to those things we can look forward to a a lovely week.

Hey Beautiful,

How are you today? I just wanted to share a little something with you that I just experienced this morning. I am currently reading Melissa Ambrosini’s book Mastering Your Meal Girl, if you haven’t already got it go buy it right now, it’s seriously an awesome book. There are a lot of common ideas in the book that I am already aware of but Melissa’s book takes it to a whole new level.

So this morning I’m reading away on a chapter about worthiness and there was a little exercise to share 20 things you are excellent at. I thought this will be easy so raced up stairs to grab my journal. Then I just sat there, looking at the blank page thinking “Am I really excellent at anything?” After a few moments I thought this is ridiculous, you could easily list things someone you love is excellent at, why not you? Like I said before I thought this would be easy and that I’m getting good at loving myself but this little exercise showed me I’m still learning.

It took a bit but I ended up coming up with a list of 20 things I’m excellent at. I think there’s still a bit of work to do about really owning the things I’m good at and feeling worthy of being good at these things, but it’s a start. I’m going to share my list as inspiration to get you thinking what are you excellent at? I also want to be able to come back to this post and list and think heck yeah I am awesome and excellent at all these things. So here’s my list:

  1. Traveling Solo
  2. Being a big sister, daughter, friend and cousin
  3. Taking beautiful photos
  4. Being a team leader and assistant manager
  5. Creating a warm and welcoming home environment
  6. Sharing love and inspiration
  7. Finding joy in the simple things
  8. Having a laugh
  9. Creating things with love (photo books, crafts & my cooking attempts)
  10. Throwing myself into dancing (I may not be professional but I love to grove)
  11. Prioritising my to do list when I have to, dropping it when I need balance
  12. Teaching
  13. Drinking water
  14. Dreaming, planning, imagining
  15. Learning
  16. Coming up with a solution
  17. Me time
  18. Writing
  19. Manifesting
  20. Being ME

So what’s on your list? Just a couple of notes, remember to stop and celebrate the big and little things you are awesome at and can do, give yourself a big hug. Also it’s not enough to just think yeah I’m good at that, good just doesn’t seem to be a powerful enough word, be awesome, amazing, excellent.

Hey You, First time Traveler,

Firstly GO YOU!

Go you for deciding to discover new places and for wanting to turn this life of yours into one big adventure. I understand Wanderlust and the urge to travel, I’ve been there. Though I haven’t been to 30 countries or seen the seven wonders I have been on some adventures of my own. My adventures to date have been solo trips and they have been incredible.Today I’ve got a few little tips and tidbits for the first time solo adventurer.

On Planning:
“All you’ve got to do is decide to go and the hardest part is over, SO GO!” ~ Tony Wheeler (Lonely Planet Founder). It’s a simple truth, where do you want to go? Book the flight and you’ll make the rest work, just do it. Dream big and plan a little. For me what works is dreaming big, flicking through the pages of travel guides, hundreds of pins on pinterest and many many travel websites. But here’s the thing, dream big, create a little plan but don’t plan every minute of every day, you’ll open yourself up to new opportunities, you’ll gather advice from fellow travelers on the road, your mood will change, the weather might change, have some freedom in your plan.

On Packing:
Write a whole lot of lists. Do test packs and cull half of the things in the bag, you really won’t need six pairs of shoes. Keep refining. Then I usually leave the actual packing for the night before, it’s how I roll, but maybe you like to be well prepared. Most places you travel to you’ll be able to buy anything you think you have forgotten or discover you need. Pack for comfort (especially in terms of shoes) and for all weather but leave some room for the little things you buy.

On Courage:
High five for deciding to travel solo. You will probably get told a lot that you are brave and courageous for traveling solo however you may be thinking ‘How am I brave for traveling solo?’ Chances are what you’re about to do hasn’t fully sunk in and you’ve got other things on your mind. It’s even more likely that you have moments where you are quietly freaking out but deep down you know that you are so ready for this and that it’s something you’ve wanted for a very long time. So back to being brave, how are you brave if travel is something you want and going solo is something you’ve made happen? This is something I can really relate to. If you stop and think about it you’ve got to give yourself some credit you are pretty brave and courageous for stepping into the unknown, going with the flow of life, saying goodbye to routine, making your dreams come true and relying on yourself more. To me that’s pretty courageous.
The original definition of courage… (from the Latin word cur, meaning heart) was to tell the story of who you are with your whole heart. ~ Brene Brown
While solo travel may be different to the courage it take for someone to hike the alps, it still takes courage to listen to your heart and set foot into the big wide world.

buy clomid and serophene

On Travel:
First up, travel on your own terms, don’t worry about others opinions or what you think they think you should be doing, and while guidebooks are great don’t live by them. Doing something that you really aren’t interested in just because it’s the touristy thing to do is going to suck. Find what interests you, do what feels right for you and don’t feel like you have to justify everything you do. You can’t help but live in the moment most times when you travel but I want to remind you to be present. Release control over every little thing, lose track of time, just sit and be and maybe put down the camera and map for a bit, soak up the atmosphere and loose yourself.

On Emotions:
When you travel emotions don’t go away just because you’re on holiday. In a single day you may feel a whole rainbow of emotions, let them rise, feel them, then let them go. Don’t beat yourself up for feeling a bit tired or cranky, listen in, do you need to rest for a while or do you need to change your thoughts? What can you be grateful for instead? What are five beautiful things around you? You may even feel a little homesick and alone. If I ever feel like this I remind myself that yes I may be physically alone I am not lonely. I’m my own best friend and there is always someone you can reach out to, Skype home, or simple strike up a conversation with the person in your hostel room or next to you on the bus.

On Money:
Keep balance with your money. Don’t be super rigid with your money, be aware and keep track of your expenses but don’t restrict yourself. Enjoy a nice meal or two or three and then cook something in the hostel kitchen. Enjoy a free walking tour but then pay a bit more for the whale watching tour. Find balance and what works for you and your budget.

On Doing Things:
Loose the expectations of how you think your trip should look and be and make it your own. Allow yourself time to rest, you are on a holiday after all. Step out of your comfort zone. Wander, explore, put down the map, sit, watch, be present. Listen to your heart, if it calls for people watching in a café or browsing a bookshop for an hour do it. If it says book that Zip Lining tour or down an Irish Coffee at 10 in the morning do that too. Let the impulses guide you. Don’t regret anything and trust your own decisions and instincts.

buy clomid and nolvadex online uk

On Making the most of your adventure:
Chat with people. Send postcards. Take lots of photos (but put the camera down too). Keep a journal, re reading it years later will take you straight back to the moment. Share your stories. Keep in touch with home. Meet the locals and chat with them. Ask questions. Challenge yourself.

To finish up all I can say is book the ticket and just go! Explore and learn on the road. Discover yourself and find out just how capable you are. Make this life of yours One Big Adventure.

Love

Caitlin

‘A new year,

Three hundred and sixty six

beautiful mornings and starlit evenings,

fifty-two promising weeks and

twelve transformative months

full of possibilities.’

Hello beautiful You!

Welcome to 2016! A whole new 366 days to make your own and fill with love, joy, laughter, gratitude and beautiful moments. I know we are already a week into the new year but I just wanted to share my thoughts on the sweet year to come.

I rounded out 2015 with lots of beautiful journalling, releasing and celebration. To sum up 2015 in one word word be Lead. Discovering and learning how to be my own leader, a leader in my workplace and a leader of change and my own adventures. The other themes was change & chapters. 2015 was filled with lots of change and the closing of old chapters and beginning of new, not just for myslef but in my own family and workplace too. My family moved from my home town of 20 years, I moved into my first place of my own and I took on a new role at work. Overall 2015 was a beautiful year with highlights being my trip to Ireland, moving out, trips to see the family at the beach and so many beautiful little moments in between.

Now onto 2016. I’ve welcomed the new year with lots of dreaming and planning. To begin with I hung up my stunning 2016 Intrinsic calendar and filled out my Lorna Jane diary. I love using beautiful planners that are bursting with joy and inspiration. I’ve also created my own little 2016 workbook in a very appropriate notebook ‘Don’t quit your daydream’. Inside this book I’ve stuck loads and loads of worksheets from some gorgeous ladies, Leonie Dawson, Sunsannah Conway, Earth Events. These have all helped me get clear on my plans, dreams and goals for the new year. I’m also in the middle of creating my vision board and I created a little jar for all my happy moments, gratitude  sand wishes for the year ahead.

The final little thing I’ve done to help me make sure 2016 is going to be a super sweet year is pick some guiding words/desired feelings/intentions/themes. A couple of words that will help guide me through the year. My words for 2016 are:

Love: ~choose love over fear ~self love ~love for one another

Dance: ~with life ~grace ~joy ~movement

Shine: ~doing things that light you up ~shining from within ~leaving a little sparkle wherever you go.
